Guide to seals

Fissler cooking valve seals

The cooking valve seal of Fissler pressure cookers

The cooking valve seals of the Vitaquick® Premium and Vitavit® Premium series consist of several individual parts:

Vitavit® Premium: rolling diaphragm, cooking valve seal, valve seat seal

Vitaquick® Premium: rolling diaphragm, O-ring, valve seat seal

Info box: In short: this is why Fissler Pressure Cookers are safe
In 1953, Fissler invented a multi-stage safety cooking valve and made the Pressure Cooker safe for private households for the first time. All Fissler Pressure Cookers are equipped with safety valves and comply with strict guidelines. Pressure inside the pot can only build up once the pot is properly closed. Fissler Pressure Cookers regulate themselves if the pressure inside becomes too high. The Pressure Cooker can only be opened once there is no more pressure inside. Thanks to these safety features, using a Pressure Cooker from Fissler is very safe.

How the Fissler safety system and the cooking valve of Fissler Pressure Cookers work

  • The cooking crown with traffic-light function, the Euromatic cooking valve, the special Rubber Gasket, and the ergonomic Fissler safety handle with locking indicator ensure that the pot is securely and airtight sealed.
  • When heated, steam is produced, allowing the oxygen that is harmful to vitamins to escape.
  • Once the oxygen has escaped, the Euromatic cooking valve closes and pressure begins to build up. The Cooking Indicator shows the pressure inside the Pressure Cooker.
For the safety system and the cooking valve to function properly, the Lid must close securely with the help of the seal.

When do the valve seals need to be replaced?

The valve seals only need to be replaced in rare cases. You can find more information in the instructions for use.
