70 years of pressure cooking by Fissler - the new Colour Blocking anniversary edition of Vitavit® and Vitaquick®

Idar-Oberstein, July 2023 – Premium cookware manufacturer Fissler is celebrating 70 years of pressure cooking with an exclusive, limited-edition anniversary pressure cooker.
The anniversary honors the invention of the first multi-stage safety valve for pressure cookers in 1953. Under the motto "Ahead of its time – safe, fast and healthy since 1953," Fissler celebrates its heritage and expertise in pressure cooking.

The celebrations reach their peak in September with the launch of the brand's most successful pressure cooker collections in an exclusive, limited-edition design: the Vitavit® and Vitaquick® dress up for the occasion. To mark its 70th anniversary, Fissler is bringing color to kitchens with its versatile pressure cooker. The design of the Vitavit® and Vitaquick® anniversary editions is inspired by the fashion and interior design colors of the 1950s—the decade in which Fissler revolutionized cooking. Fissler engineers invented and patented the first multi-stage safety valve, making the pressure cooker safe for home use for the first time.

The anniversary edition pressure cookers are a milestone in the brand's pressure-cooking heritage. Since 1953, they have embodied everything that Fissler stands for as a premium brand and family business:

  • Appreciation for cooks and ingredients
  • Craftsmanship "Made in Germany"

Like all Fissler pressure cookers, the Vitavit® and Vitaquick® anniversary editions are made in Germany and decorated entirely by hand. With the invention of the first multi-stage safety valve, Fissler revolutionized cooking in kitchens around the world. The 1950s were defined by mid-century chic—and so is this latest edition. The limited-edition anniversary collection will be available from September 1, starting at 199 euros, through the Fissler online shop and selected specialist retailers. The anniversary editions are available as Vitaquick® Premium in 4.5l and 6l, and as Vitavit® Premium in 4.5l and 6l.

What members of the Fissler family business have to say about the pressure cooker's big anniversary:

Juliane, Global Product Manager

"The 1950s were crucial to Fissler's success and to the worldwide breakthrough of pressure cookers. That's why they are the perfect inspiration for our anniversary edition. The 1950s were an era of contrasts, with color blocking as a key theme. We have used these themes in a modern interpretation for our limited-edition anniversary collection. We chose the colors Mauve Orchid, Bluing and Cadmium Yellow, which—like our pressure cookers—are more on trend than ever right now."

 Claire, Brand and Communication Manager

"Pressure cookers have been closely associated with the Fissler brand for 70 years. Alongside the well-known, unique benefits that only pressure cooking offers, the many one-pot meals are a real plus for me personally. It's fun to find inspiration in cuisines from around the world. Thanks to my pressure cooker, I cook more healthily, more varied dishes and more international food today."

Heiko, Head of Innovation & Product Development

"The pressure cooker is one of the most versatile products I know. It handles so many tasks that it can replace many other kitchen products. I find it especially remarkable that we have continued to rethink and optimize the pressure cooker for 70 years. And even 70 years ago, it was already truly perfect in terms of being 'save and safe.'  We create timeless products with long lifecycles. We have always worked with high-quality materials and a passion for perfection. We also keep spare parts available for discontinued products for many years—even decades—so choosing a Fissler product can be a decision for generations to come."

Beate, Senior Manager Trademarks & Training

"I'm delighted by how modern the Fissler pressure cooker looks for its 70th anniversary. It is perfect for a healthy lifestyle and today's food trends. Pressure cooking preserves the valuable vitamins, minerals and flavors in our food exceptionally well*. You can't cook more healthily or deliciously than this."

 Milena, Marketing EMEA Specialist

"My grandmother has been cooking with a Fissler pressure cooker since the 1970s and still raves about how easy and fast it is. Now, in 2023, almost 50 years later, I can't imagine my kitchen without one either. As we celebrate its 70th anniversary, I'm touched that pressure cooking has made cooking easier across generations while always reflecting the spirit of the times. When I need to cook in a hurry during my lunch break or after work, the Vitavit® Premium is my go-to. Simple, fast and delicious cooking."
